Manager Danny Wilson says Sheffield United's fringe players could be sent out on loan, but only if he can recall them later.
David McAllister joined Shrewsbury on a month-long deal last week and Wilson wants more of his players to sample first-team football away from Bramall Lane.
The Blades boss told The Star: "If we can get some of these lads out playing at a decent standard then it's a win-win situation for all parties concerned.
"So long as we can get them back here if they're required then it's definitely something we'd look at doing."
Wilson moved to play down Saturday's clash with npower League One leaders Charlton, insisting that alone will not decide who secures promotion.
He added: "It's not one game that's going to decide where we all finish at the end of the season. The next 20 might, but one match on its own isn't going to do that."
