Stoke boss Tony Pulis has told TEAMtalk's Insider Mark Holmes he will be having words with his players for over-celebrating at Aston Villa.
Stoke were trailing 2-0 going into the final few minutes at Villa Park on Sunday but Ryan Shawcross gave them a lifeline before Glenn Whelan struck a superb stoppage-time equaliser to spark wild celebrations in front of the travelling fans.
Pulis himself was seen jumping for delight, and the Welshman has no complaints with the way in which his players ran to congratulate Whelan, but he was not happy with the way they switched off from Villa's resulting kick-off.
He said: "Losing concentration has been a problem this season and we'll talk about it again on Wednesday because it happened even after the celebrations at Villa.
"You're very pleased you've scored, the players celebrate it and go over to Glenn and it was fantastic. But not many people noticed that within two passes Villa had got a cross into our box.
"From the kick-off they got the ball out to Milner who controlled it and got the cross in, so we have to learn from that.
"But we've been kicked in the proverbials quite a few times late on this year so it was nice to get one back and it was a great reaction from everybody that showed how much the players care and how much the supporters care.
"We've been unlucky away from home. To be leading at Chelsea in the 88th minute and get beat is so disappointing but we did it at Middlesbrough too, we have conceded late goals this year.
"But the players have kept going, they've never stopped trying or giving their best and I think the supporters appreciate that and will stick behind them as long as they keep doing that."
Pulis was understandably delighted with the point at Villa Park and particularly pleased with the performances of substitutes Ricardo Fuller and Glenn Whelan, who changed the game after their introductions.
He says the pair's attitude after coming on sums up the spirit and determination within the camp and is feeling in confident mood as his squad prepares to return to full strength.
Rory Delap is the latest player due back in Wednesday night's home clash with Bolton and, with Matthew Etherington available the week after at Everton, Pulis feels the Potters are well equipped to survive.
"You want players who don't drop their heads or sulk around the place," he said. "You want people who are going to roll their sleeves up. People who want to be a part of what you're trying to do and still want to get on the pitch and show what they can do if they're not in the team from the start.
"The main thing for them as a group of players is their pride amongst themselves and Glenn and Ricardo's response on Sunday shows that they've got the right attitude and the one that we want at this football club.
"They came on and really took the bull by the horns, which shows their determination to be a part of it and a part of the team. Their attitude has been absolutely fantastic, but this is a good squad and a good group of players."
Pulis admits it is tough to keep all his players happy but says anyone left out of the team on Wednesday night must show the same attitude as the likes of Whelan, who has had to wait for his chance this season.
He said: "They all want to play and they all want to play in the Premier League, which is the ultimate achievement for players in this country. It's not easy keeping people doing but they've got to have a mental toughness.
"I was a player myself and know how frustrating it is to be left out of the team. We're going to fantastic grounds that you prayed as a kid for the chance to play out and those not playing are missing out on that opportunity.
"But I have to say the attitude around the place has been brilliant. I've got Whelan, Delap and Fuller that will be pushing for places against Bolton, which is brilliant, but if I don't pick them they've got to accept that and wait for their chances.
"Glenn came on against Villa and did very well but Amdy (Faye) has done very well too, especially in the home games. Theyn we've got Rory (Delap) back from suspension but Danny Pugh who has been excellent in his absence. Ric did very well when he came on as well but Mama (Sidibe) and James (Beattie) were very good against Portsmouth, so that's all good.
"It's the kind of headache you need in the Premier League and it will be even better when Matty (Etherington) comes back because he's a massive player for us."
Meanwhile Pulis has again urged the club's supporters to turn out in their numbers over the final six home games to give Stoke the push they need to ensure a second season in the Premier League.
There are currently just under 1,000 tickets left in the home ends for Wednesday night's game but Pulis expects those to be snapped up to ensure another terrific atmosphere in the ground rated the league's loudest.
"Come out and watch us," he said. "We've got six games left at home so let's make the place rock. They had 40 odd thousand in Villa Park on Sunday but I still say the atmosphere in the Britannia is electric even compared to that. Even there we had 4,000 supporters and it just took off in that corner when we scored the equaliser.
"But these evening games are special occasions. Sunderland was the last one we played at home and that was a great evening for us and a great result so hopefully we can follow it up against Bolton.
"It's very important for us to stick together because the more we do that the more the players and supporters realise we can survive."
