Liverpool's on-loan Lille midfielder Joe Cole is enjoying life in Ligue 1 but says he is unsure where he will be plying his trade next season.

Cole has impressed for the French side since joining on a season-long loan from Anfield in the summer, netting his first hat-trick for the side in their recent Coupe de France triumph of US Chantilly.

The 30-year-old, who is contracted on Merseyside until 2014, says he and his family are settled in France but is still undecided over his next move.

He told L'Equipe: "It is still a little difficult for me to talk about my future. What I want? I don't wish to talk about it now, because it is not that simple.

"I am really very happy here and my family too. But up to now I have not talked with Liverpool."

While enjoying his time at the Stade Lille-Metropole, Cole admits the language barrier in the dressing room can be frustrating.

He added: "Do I miss English football? I don't know. The only thing I miss is the dressing room.

"I can't understand all the jokes and that is frustrating. French is more difficult than I thought. But I try to be very serious with my lessons."

Cole believes, with the exception of the Premier League top-four, the quality of Ligue 1 football is on a par with the English top-flight, although admits there is more money to be spent across the channel.

"The stadiums are not as beautiful as in England, but if you remove Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea or Tottenham, the level is the same," he said.

"The difference with Premier League is the intensity. But it has always been like that.

"The (other) difference is England has money to buy David Silva, (Mario) Balotelli, (Sergio) Aguero, etc."

Cole feels the Premier League should take notice of what he feels is a friendlier relationship between the players and the media in France.

"I like the atmosphere in Ligue 1, the closeness between TV and players," he added.

"The interviews before, in the middle and after the match are very friendly. The Premier League should get inspired by that."
