Defender Liam Davis has expressed his delight after signing a new deal with Oxford to keep him at the club until 2013.
The 25-year-old left-back joined the U's following his release from Northampton this summer and has impressed for Chris Wilder's side in the left-back berth.
Davis, who has an option of a further year on his new contract, told the club's official website: "I was really pleased to get it sorted. It had been anticipated and we had been talking about it, but it is always nice to get things sorted.
"As soon as I left Northampton and knew Chris Wilder was interested in bringing me here it was an easy decision to make and I have really enjoyed it here ever since.
"The fans have been great. I was told when I arrived that the fans were good, and they have been unbelievable, home and away. I try and work hard and give it my all in every game and I think the fans appreciate it when players do that."
Wilder added: "Liam has been very impressive and is very much part of our plans as we go forward. It is good to have him here for longer and we look forward to working with him and seeing him develop still further."
