Carlisle boss Greg Abbott has confirmed there have not been any approaches for his players during the January transfer window.

Speculation is rife in the north west that bigger clubs are poised to table offers for some of Abbott's players, with striker Francois Zoko's future receiving particular attention.

Abbott, whose side have climbed into a play-off spot after three wins and three draws in their last six matches, told the club's official website: "All I can say, hand on heart, is that as we sit here right now there has not been one question asked about any of our players at all.

"What we have to understand is that we are on an incredible run at the moment and the nature of football is that just about every club in the country, at every level, will want to know why.

"The more successful we are, the more scouts will come and watch us. That's just a fact of life."

Abbott added: "As far as it goes for us right now, is that we haven't had one phone call to ask about any of our players. There's absolutely no truth in any rumours we've heard this week, and hopefully that's how it will stay."
