Chairman Nick Higgs expects Bristol Rovers to announce a new manager in a matter of days, following the 0-0 draw with Crawley.

The fixture is likely to be caretaker boss Shaun North's last in charge while Richard Money, Keith Curle, Paul Ince and Geraint Williams are all thought to be in the running, while North has not applied for the job but has now taken four points from two league games in charge.

Speaking about possible candidates, Higgs said: "We are down to a shortlist of four and hope to be in a position to make an announcement by Wednesday or Thursday."

After seeing Rovers take a battling point against the side who had started the day at the top of the table, North said: "I am happy at the club, but I have absolutely no idea what the future holds for me.

"I believe in myself as a coach and I am ambitious enough to want to work in the Premier League one day. Having said that, I am realistic enough to know that I could be out of a job in a matter of days. Whatever happens I've enjoyed my first taste of being a manager and the lads did me proud again.

"A lot of hard work went into the game in training and the players gave their all. The supporters were good too and their support made a difference in the final 10 minutes when we came under pressure."
