Roman Bednar says his understanding with Kevin Phillips is as strong as ever after the duo inspired Blackpool to a dramatic win on Tuesday.
Bednar and Phillips enjoyed a fruitful strike partnership during their time together at West Brom, and the Czech forward's loan move from the Hawthorns to Blackpool at the weekend reunited him with the 38-year-old former Sunderland star.
The Seasiders were 1-0 down against Coventry when boss Ian Holloway called Bednar from the bench to lay on the equaliser for fellow substitute Phillips, before Gary Taylor-Fletcher stole the points at the death.
"It always seems to work with Kevin," Bednar told Blackpool's official website.
"I know exactly what I'm doing and I know exactly what he's doing every time.
"He looks like he's going to go in front of the defender and then he checks back and I just know what he's going to do - I don't know it just always works with him."
